As I mentioned before, the builders are allowing my FIL (father-in-law) to do the electrical. I have been having a grand old time buying light fixtures galore...
But last night it was time to figure out the actual plan of attack. Since our building date is so far behind, my FIL is going to probably run into an issue with his availability to do the work. He's a teacher and has the summers off but with the new time frame...we think it's going to run into the last week of his vacation or the begining of the school year.
So last night, I sat down with him and went through every room in the house and ended up with plans that now look like this:
I will be shocked if either of us even know what was drawn last night...never mind a month from now. Wiring a house is no joke. Picking our where you want all the lights and light switches is no joke either. I really want something simple not not super complicated. But...that's not really what ended up happening. Let's just say I'm getting rececessed lights in every room, ceiling fans in all the bedrooms with speed switches on the walls (instead of chains), closet lights, under the counter lights, flood lights, dimmers on every switch, a plug in the kitchen with a USB port, extra outlets in the bathrooms, AND all of the front outlets by every window will be on a timer so when Christmas rolls around...my lights will conveniently turn on and off for me. Super simple...right???
